ANM (Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery)

The full form of ANM is Auxillary Nursery Midwifery in Nursing, ANM’s graduate program that goes into Nursing. The duration of the ANM course is 2 years, of which 6 months is experience. Secondly, The main objective of this course is to teach students how to support the entire community in the provision of health care. This course is important because people need to have knowledge of the nursing profession. The shortage of nurses led to ANM graduation.

Especially ANM courses are available in regular mode and distance mode. Moreover, Graduates from the ANM program can work in all types of healthcare organizations. You have to treat patients, take care of their health, and carry out their rehabilitation.

Above all, the focus of the course is on the health professions, focusing on individuals, families, and communities to help them achieve, maintain, or restore optimal health and quality of life from conception to death.

The ANM course curriculum is designed to adequately emphasize in Public health system. Health promotion, Caring for children’s health, Head of Health Center, Midwifery, etc.

After completing the Auxillary Nursing Midwife course and registering with the State Nurse Registration Council, the GNM [General Nursing and Midwifery] course can be continued. Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery offers Nursing candidates a variety of job profiles as Public Health Workers, home nurses. Health visitor, Basic health workers, Village Health Workers, etc.

Especially, The average salary upon completion of the course for nurses and midwives [A.N.M] varies between 2.3 and 3.2 lakhs per year. This amount will vary based on the applicant’s sector of work and their diligence, dedication, and skills, as well as work experience.

Eligibility for ANM admission

  • To continue with the ANM program, candidates must pass the 10+2 exam in science subjects.
  • The percentage required in this phase varies by college. The average grade that candidates must receive is 50%.
  • The minimum age to apply for this course is 17 years and is limited to 35 years.
